Did you know that our adoption fee does not usually cover all of the medical expenses we have into the pet?
Wrangler came to us as a stray in June and was suffering from an unfortunate run in with a porcupine. The health of our animals is top priority, so he was taken to the veterinarians office right away for treatment. After having over 100 quills removed and being prescribed several medications to help him fight off any infection, he is happily on the mend (and still looking for his owners)... but that vet visit and medications did not come free of charge to our organization.
Many dogs and cats come to us as strays and are in need of extra medical care for all kinds of conditions such as heartworm, skin and ear infections and injuries. We often have hundreds of dollars into a single pet to make sure that he/she is happy and healthy, in addition to our standard care (vaccines, flea/tick treatment, dewormer, heartworm test, microchip and spay/neuter surgery).
Do you know where that extra funding comes from? DONATIONS!!
We can only provide the necessary medical care to stray and discarded pets because of your support.
Wrangler is just one of many examples of what we use our donation funds for and this case reflects how important it is that we have those funds available. Please consider donating today to ensure we can continue to provide the best care for the lost and discarded pets that will call us home. Wrangler thanks you!
