HsofMM can only accept stray animals from Montcalm County Animal Control Officer(s). We cannot accept strays via walk-in from residents. All stray animals are held in our care for a minimum of a week before being adopted to allow the owners a chance to find their pet. If the pet is not reclaimed it will be evaluated and either placed up for adoption or transferred to another humane society or rescue group. In the event the animal is injured beyond veterinary care or a danger to the public it may be considered for euthanasia only after all other resources have been exhausted.
The Humane Society of Mid Michigan DOES NOT euthanize healthy adoptable pets.
